Dear Parents,
This weeks snap words are - in, of, this, said, was. They now have 10 words to read and spell. They review these words each day in either a morning message or a poem. After the fifth week I will test them to see how many they can read.
We continue to work on Rules and Responsibilites at school and at home as well as classroom routines. "Active listening" is something we talk about, so please ask your child about this and what it looks like. It continues to be challenging for some children.
We will begin a spelling program after Thanksgiving.
Please ensure your child has indoor shoes for wet and rainy days and especially for after cross country in the mornings. The kids shoes and socks were wet last week after cross country. Thanks. They can leave a pair here on their shelf above their coat hook. Thanks.
We will start to look at "The Changing Seasons" in Social Studies and in math we are learning how to spell number words to 10. Soon we will be looking at and making graphs.
The 'All About Me' bags will go home today. The children started work on their booklet in class. This will stay at school and they will share it with their bag on their special day. We have 3 or 4 children each day next week who will share. Thanks for your assistance with this.
