The kids had a fantastic time at the TDSB outdoor education centre. I hope they shared with you all they learned about how maple syrup is made. They roasted marshmallows after lunch and it was a first for 2 children.
We will go on another trip to the TSO in April and those forms will come home soon. Two parents will be needed for this trip.
The children continue to learn about structures and the materials they are made of, through an inquiry approach and what makes them strong and sturdy. They will be building a structure with their group for the end of the unit and we need some building materials. I would appreciate it if you could save and send in, any time, newspapers, paper towel rolls, tape, egg cartons, cereal boxes, cardboard of any kind, string, fasteners of any kind or anything to build with. Thanks
In math, they have been working on counting forwards and backwards by 2's, 5's and 10's and number facts. Next we will look at telling time to the hour and half hour.
We are talking about relationships in the community and will be learning about mapping and then making a community map.
They are having fun coding with the sphero balls and using the ipads with apps such as scratch jr.
