Dear Parents,
Hello, The snap words for the past 2 weeks were - for, he, it, that, you and last week - as, on with, be his. The 25 snap words were sent home on Friday. I will test the kids during this week to see if they can read all 25 words "in a snap". Thanks for your help.

We started spelling last week with 10 words, plus 2 bonus words. The words will be introduced on Mondays with spelling work done monday to wednesday and we will have our dictation (test) on Fridays.

We continue to do work work each week. We will look at word families this week. - i.e. ran, fan, pan etc.

The children now have a bag of books geared to their personal reading level. They will have reading time every day with these books and practise reading strategies taught. They will exchange them when they have read them over many times and only move up a level when they can read it to me fluently and can retell what they read. Most of the books are A-Z books and are the ones available on Razz Kids. As the kids are now signed up for Razz on the computer they may read some of these books and say, I read that one in school. That is good as the more they can read them, they get better each time, while increasing their confidence and independence. They will take a book home with them 2 x/week on Wednesdays and Fridays. It will be in the front pocket of the planner. Please look for it and return it the next day. Thanks for your help.

Please make sure your child has a pair of dry indoor shoes here in case it rains and their shoes get wet. Thanks

We are looking at simple addition in math, as well as continuing with graphs.

We continue to talk about Daily and Seasonal Cycles in Science. Please ask you child to tell you about these cycles and some seasonal changes occurring.  Thanks,
