Good morning,
Just a reminder to please ensure your child has a pair of indoor shoes (or slippers) to wear at school at all times. Snow boots and rain boots are not suitable for the classroom. Thank you.
We have talked as a class about what good listening behaviour looks and sounds like. Oral and visual communication is very important to learning. Listening to the teacher and working quietly continues to be a challenge for some children. A quiet learning environment during work time is needed for all children to be able to concentrate and think. We will continue to address it. Thanks for your help.
The spelling words for this week are - six, box, top, book, mix, pop. Ending sounds/letters of p,x,k.
The snap words for this week are - big, some, go, us, day. I will send home the list of the last 25 words. Please help your child to learn to read these words in a snap. Thank you.
The Holiday Concert is on Wednesday, December 9th. Dr Grant has asked that our class bring an "Elf Hat" (the green ones, not the red ones). She said the Dollar Store sells them, Thank you.
Please bring in one clean 500ml carton (or more, if you have them) for your child's gingerbread house and a bag a candies to decorate (see last week's blog for suggestions) on or before Monday December 7th. Thank you.
Please read with your child every night for at least 5-10 minutes. They have learned the reading "helpers" and need a lot of practice using them with books at their individual level. Razz kids is great for this.Thank you for your help.
IXL math information with username and passwords went home on Friday. This is an online math practice site that you can use as much or as little as you wish. I do not monitor it or count it as part of their math mark. We will begin to look at the concept of subtraction this week as well as linear measuring with non standard units.
Have a great week!
